ORAHS International Seminar Series – 28 Oct 2025 – Dr. Daniela Guericke and Dr. Matthias Walter | Meeting-Join | Microsoft Teams
Our next speakers are Dr. Daniela Guericke and Dr. Matthias Walter. On October 28, 2025, at 16:00 (CEST), they will present their latest research titled “A hybrid solution approach for the Integrated Healthcare Timetabling Competition 2024”.
Daniela Guericke is Assistant Professor for Stochastic Operations Research at the Section Industrial Engineering and Management Science of the University of Twente. She is also a member of the Center for Healthcare Operations Improvement and Research (CHOIR). Her research focuses on sustainable operations by utilizing (stochastic) operations research and optimization methods in application areas such as health care. In particular, she is interested in decision-making under uncertainty and solving large-scale optimization problems, amongst others, in home health care applications.
Matthias Walter is Assistant Professor at the Discrete Mathematics & Mathematical Programming group at the University of Twente. His research focuses on computational mixed-integer programming, polyhedral combinatorics, and recognition of combinatorial matrices, and he is known for his work on total unimodularity testing software. He contributes to journals such as Mathematical Programming (Computation), INFORMS Journal on Computing, and Open Journal on Mathematical Optimization.
